I was reminded today that tomorrow is New Year’s Eve. For some reason, this fact had completely slipped my mind. I have no plans…and I am perfectly ok with the fact that I will drink sparkling cider and probably fall asleep before the ball drops.

Last year, my main resolution was to get through 2013 injury free and I am proud to say I was successful in this endeavor! I also became a stronger runner, ran my first Ragnar, and set new PRs in the 5k and half marathon.


I have been contemplating attainable goals for 2014 and while I have already announced my goal of 2014 miles in 2014, I have decided to add a few more.

Drink more water: I haven’t been the best at hydrating lately and have been mainly existing on coffee. I am aiming for 64-80 ounces a day!
Lose that 10 pounds: I put on about 10 pounds while injured in 2012 and they have stuck around. This year they can say goodbye. I am using the Lose it! App to track my calories and hopefully I will stick to it!
Get comfortable on my bike: I bought my bike three years ago and that was the first time I had been on a bike since middle school. I no longer have a fear of falling off but I still ride the break so getting more comfortable riding is a huge factor in my 2014 miles goal.
Run 14 races in 2014: Ok, I threw this one on because I have joined the 14 in 2014 challenge. I ran 18 races this year so this one should be easy peasy (I know, I know…famous last words)
