School is back in session and I finally feel like there is some normalcy back in my life. Having a schedule (even though it is different every day of the week) brings me comfort. It also reminds me that squeezing in time for training is hard work! I know I will need to run on a treadmill at the gym tonight and I am already dreading it. Hopefully I will muster the willpower to make myself do it instead of wimping out and going home to watch The Biggest Loser.
This past Friday I took my very first aerial yoga class! My studio has been doing a teacher training for Unatta Aerial Yoga and offered some free classes so the teachers doing the training could practice and the public could try it out. Aerial Yoga uses hammocks to aid in the poses.
I grew a little nervous when I learned that myself and one other person were the only two people in the room who were not yoga instructors and lets just say I was definitely the “special kid.” Lucky for me the teacher was fabulous and helped me be able to do things like this!
I was sooo sore the next day. This works your entire body and my abs were killing me. I can’t wait until the regular classes start up in February!
This week was much better in the mileage department but the running has been very slow (even slower than usual) lately. I don’t know if it is because I took a break, because I am lazy, or because it is so cold outside but I hope I can get back some of the speed I worked so hard to build.
Tuesday: 3.1 miles with Moose
Thursday: 1 mile walk with Moose, 3 miles (intervals), 1 mile bike
Friday: Aerial Yoga
Saturday: 8 miles + 2.3 miles walk
